Top 5 Lipsticks

This is the second post in my top 5 beauty products series! This one is going to be on Lipsticks which is a hard one! I have a good sized collection of amazing lipsticks but if I had to choose just 5...

1. I have to start with the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107. The formula of these lipsticks is amazing and the staying power is incredible! This colour is a very blue toned red but it such a flattering colour. Get your hands on one of these!

2. I am a big fan of the Topshop lipsticks because they are so pigmented and moisturising! My favourite Topshop lipstick, which was also my first, is Rio Rio which is an orange toned red which looks great with any outfit! I love wearing this colour to add a little something to an all black outfit.

3. I do have a few MAC lipsticks but there are certainly a few which I am lusting after. My favourite MAC Lipstick that I own is Snob! A blue toned pale pink which is a Satin lipstick! The finish of this lipstick is beautiful and it smells of vanilla!

4. I need to include a Clinique Chubby Stick and I have falling in love with the Chubby Stick Intense Collection! My favourite shade is Grandest Grape which is a beautiful purple shade! I will be wearing this a lot during the autumn and winter months!

5. My final favourite is my Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in 32 La Ravissante! It's is the brightest blue toned red that just looks flattering on everyone! This was my first Chanel lipstick and it was love at first sight!

Top 5 Blushers

I have seen a few beauty bloggers showing their readers their top 5 beauty products so I thought I would share mine! I am going to start of with my top 5 blushers because I love blushers! I'm so pale and they do help me to look alive!

1. I have a special place in my heart for the Dior Rosy Glow blusher! I remember the day I bought this product in John Lewis when I was sampling Dior foundations and the consultant showed me this amazing blush! The colour in the pan is the brightest pink blush ever! But when applied to the skin it leaves your cheeks with a beautiful 'rosy glow'. You can build the colour up to be a brighter pink but you just need a light sweep of the blusher to create a glowing look.

2. I mentioned this one in my August favourites and its the Benefit Fine One One! This cream blushers stick is an essential in my makeup bag because it is so easy to apply and blend in and it gives a perfect coral colour on your cheeks.

3. I've been trying out a few Sleek products recently and I have been loving their Rose Gold blusher! I have heard that its a dupe for Nars Orgasm but I haven't actually tried the Nars one. It is a beautiful corally pink colour with flecks of gold that do translate onto the skin, giving you a slight glow.

4. I love Bobby Brown makeup and I adore this Bobby Brown Blusher in Peony! I do love a bright pink cheek and this is a gorgeous shade for summer! I really like the Bobby Brown simple packaging and I am looking forward to trying more of their blushers!

5. My final favourite blush is the Chanel Tweed Rose blush! As you can see it has been well used as I am touching pan but there is still plenty of the product left! It is a two tone blush with a dark pink with gold flecks in it and a matte peach colour! Combined they make the most beautiful cheek colour!

Stay tuned for top 5 lipsticks!

Real Techniques Make-up Brushes

I was recently introduced to these makeup brushes by my friend Loren and started off my collection with the foundation brush. I have now built up my collection a wee bit more but I have no where near all of them! I'm just gonna talk you through my brush collection, which are my favourites and how I use them.

L-R: powder brush, buffing brush, expert face brush, foundation brush, contour brush, pointed foundation brush, detailed brush

I would say the foundation brush is the one I use the least! I don't enjoy blending my foundation in with this brush as it can look a little streaky! I sometimes use it to blend in concealer if my skin is particularly bad!

I then picked up the Real Techniques basic brush set which included a; buffing brush, contour brush, pointed foundation brush and the detailer brush. This set is perfect if you are just starting to explore makeup brushes and makeup application techniques.
I use the buffing brush for all my blusher and bronzers and I do love this brush!
I use the contour brush for contouring and applying highlighters.
The pointed foundation brush has turned into my eyeshadow brush! Perfect for applying eyeshadow to the lid and the crease and blending to make a natural eye look.
The detailer brush is used to apply concealer to certain areas but I also like to use this brush to apply some lipsticks.

My newest Real Techniques brushes, which were added to the collection yesterday are the powder brush and the expert face brush. Boots had a buy one get one half price deal on and i couldn't resist! The powder brush is huge and perfect for setting my makeup! Automatic favourite powder brush! The expert face brush is my favourite brush beyond a doubt! I only got this yesterday and I love it! I have heard amazing things about this brush and Loren told me I must get it but every where I looked they were sold out! Well I was in luck yesterday! To be honest I prefer applying foundation and bb creams using my fingers as it leaves a better finish on the skin but... Not anymore! This brush is amazing at blending your base and my skin looks natural and airbrushed at the same time!

Next I really want to get my hands on the Real techniques eye make-up brush set so I'll be saving my pennies for that!

Every Sunday I make sure that all my brushes get cleaned because some of them can get a little grubby from being used every day! I use warm water and a little bit of Johnson's baby shampoo and I find this makes them super clean and super soft.

Early August Favourites

I know I am posting this a little early but I feel like I haven't posted anything in ages and I wanted to let you guys know what I have been loving this month! I have been super busy and I've had trouble finding time to blog but hopefully that busy time will settle down now summer is over!

I'll start with my make up favourites and I have been loving a few products this month!

Diorskin Nude BB Cream in the shade 002: I love this BB cream and when it runs out I will run out and repurchase it! When I first got it I would wear either my Nars tinted moisturiser or my Clinique CC cream underneath it just to add a little more coverage but recently I have been wearing it on its own and it is just beautiful on the skin! Dior do bases really well and this has been one of my summer essentials! I wear it every day!!

Benefit Fine One One: I bought this a while ago when it was first launched and i am still loving it! It's a cream blusher, bronzed and highlighter trio in a handy roll up stick! The colour is a gorgeous coral colour that really suits my pail skin tone! I have heard that it hasn't been everyone's favourite product but I still love it!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr: This is my first one of these and it certainly won't be the last! I bought it in the colour On and on Bronze and it is the perfect everyday cream eye shadow! I have used this everyday and its barely made a dent in the product! The colour is a beautiful bronze colour with a little shimmer, great for wearing during the day and out at night!

Chanel Ombré Essentielle in Safari: I got this for my 21st from my best friend Rebecca and I loved it at the time and then I kinda forgot I had it. I've recently discovered it again and it's made it's way back into my makeup bag! Safari is a slightly grey toned bronze with a shimmer through it and I would really recommend it!

For skin care this month I have been trying really hard to stick to a routine, morning and night! I have been watching Lily Pebbles' skin care routine series on YouTube and was inspired to keep it up. My skin right now is horrendous and I have a lot of stress spots around my chin so I'm aiming to come up with the perfect skin are routine and products to fight these spots!

Loreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution: I was excited to try a Micellar water and really wanted the Bioderma one but I found this cheap alternative in Boots! It's perfect at dissolving my makeup as the first part of my skin care routine!

Balance me Pure Skin Face Wash: I got this as a freebie in one of my fashion magazines and was really excited to try it! I have heard other bloggers rave about this product and I will be another to discuss it! I love it! After I have used it my face feels really clean and I just want to try more from this brand!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil free moisturiser: My sister bought this moisturiser and I was stealing it like everyday so I decided to buy my own tube! It smells amazing and does leave my face moisturised and feeling really fresh! The cream soaks I'm the skin really well and I'm really enjoying using it!

This month my hair got the chop and is now back to its blonde blunt hair style! I have been looking for the perfect hair product that will naturally mess up my perfectly straight hair!

Bamboo Style Boho Waves: I received this Texturising spray in my July Glossybox and it has been a handbag essential this month! It creates a naturally messy look without drying out my hair like salts sprays do! Try and get your hands on this little miracle!

Loreal Hair Expertise Everstrong Shampoo and conditioner: I picked this up because I had heard Essiebutton say great things about the Loreal Evercreme or Everriche and I rushed down to boots to grab some for myself! I realised when I got home it was for brittle and fragile hair which I do not have but I can not fault it! It makes my hair feel clean and thick and just beautiful! The shampoo is Rosemary and juniper scent and the conditioner is rosemary and mint scent and they smell delicious! You can smell the mint in my hair all day and that deserves favourites recognition!

I have been loving painting my nails this month and I have picked the three colours I've been wearing most!

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 hours in Mint for Life

Topshop in Milkshake

Essie in Meet me at Sunset

Finally I have been loving too scrubs/exfoliating products this month! One for lips and one for my body!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub: This smells of After Eights chocolates and tastes good too! Big fan of the Lush lip scrubs but I'm loving this one! Really helps my lips feel super soft! Just don't or get to put a lip balm on after to keep your lips moisturised!

Soap and Glory The Breakfast Scrub: I ran out of my Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Scrub which smelt like key lime pie so I picked up this alternative to try! It smells amazing! Very sweet! The ingredients list looks good enough to eat and it also is a brilliant exfoliant! I use this every two days to help my skin feel soft and refreshed!
